When Olympic organizers tried to shut Olympia down for the 2010 Games, the neighbourhood rallied — thousands signed the petition. Forty years on, the souvlaki is still the same recipe, the patio still faces the street, and the lamb still sells out on Fridays.
In 2010, Olympic organizers tried to force Olympia to shut down. Thousands of regulars signed the petition. Lawyers offered pro bono help. Olympia stood its ground — the only small business to successfully push back against the IOC that year.
